The farm “Casale”, that today produces approximately 80,000 bottles a year, is situated in the Montepulciano DOCG zone and develops over 20 hectars of vineyards.
The vine varieties of Sangiovese, with small quantities of Canaiolo and Mammolo are cultivated on clayey and stony grounds – in Gracciano, Valiano, Abbadia and Acquaviva – suited to obtain a pleasant and tasty product.
From the Production areas of Gracciano, Abbadia di Montepulciano and Valiano also come the grapes of Malvasia, Trebbiano and Grechetto (Pulcinculo) with which the company produces its fine Vin Santo di Montepulciano.
This company has always tried to improve product quality but also buy and renew its fleet barrels and French oak casks, so that we can achieve optimal aging of its wines, even if his technique for producing its cru remained traditional.
The vines, about 4000 plants per hectare, grown mostly “a Guyot” and the remaining part “a Cordone speronato”, with south-southwest exposure, an average altitude of 360 M. a.s.l. and a maximum production of 70 quintals per hectare, give in this way the best quality of our products.
The same care with which we produce our wines is dedicated to the cultivation and pressing of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The typical local varieties, Leccino, Frantoio and Moraiolo, hand harvested in November and the cold extraction within 24 hours from collection, ensure a high quality product with an intense flavor, a bouquet rich of aromas, a balanced taste, persistent and pleasantly spicy.
